A very lucky group of nine Girl Scouts narrowly escaped being struck by lightning last week in the remote Minnesota wilderness — and serves as a reminder of the dangers RVers and campers face when rough weather rolls in. If you think what the Girl Scouts faced was an isolated incident, think again…

Beautiful workmanship! This one is parked in the perfect spot. I can’t imagine driving it many places – low to the ground and wind resistant, but fun to stay in!
As you travel about in your RV this time of year you’ll see blueberries available everywhere. Pick up some and try this great RV Recipe from personal chef Mary Jane Curry
Blueberries are in season and available at great prices right now. I purchased a large basket of organic blueberries at a Natural foods grocery store. We enjoyed the berries this week for breakfast with our cereal, added some with a green salad and still had a good amount of berries left. I wanted t…

Talk to a surgeon and have them take care of it, I was scheduled to have a colon resection done and before the surgery date the colon perforated and I needed emergency surgery. Having it done before it is an emergency situation is so much easier and may not need to have a bag. Luckily my Perforation happened when I was admitted to the hospital for another issue and didn’t require being bagged, nest of luck may God’s blessings be with you.

There’s a lot of hype these days about being a fulltime RVer. But the fact is, fulltiming is not for everyone. This week on the RV Podcast, we’re joined by Marc and Julie of RV Love for a candid conversation on why the fulltime RV life may not be right for you.
The RV Lifestyle is wonderful, no doubt about it. So wonderful that seemingly wherever you turn these days, people are saying to really experience it you should be a fulltimer. That may be great for many… but it is not so great for many more. This week, we talk about what they DON’T tell you abo…

How much and where did you get the TOGO? We have AT&T and looking to find something reliable for our WiFi when we start traveling.
We are new RVers. This is a topic we need to explore. How does one stay connected while traveling? Most efficient and cost affective? Lots to learn about this subject. All recommendations are welcome.
We have yet to find anything that is “reliable” we use our phones but even then sometimes cell service is spotty or nonexistent, lol.
I developed this recipe to use some of the ingredients I happen to have on hand and the results were so yummy I had to share! Ingredients 2 tbsp. cornstarch 1/3 cup sugar 1 cup organic coconut milk or coconut cream 1 cup buttermilk 3 egg yolks 1/2 tsp
One of a kind 4WD camper van (used). The steering wheel is on the “wrong” side but if you like getting back into forest roads or on BLM land, this could be for you. (Located in Denver)
Ari and Jessi Adler, known as trekers.org, and regulars here on the Facebook TV Lifestyle Group, were our featured guests on the RV Podcast Interview of the Week this week. They have a really ambitious bucket list that they are checking off, despite 9 to 5 jobs and limits on extended travel. They share how they do it and why all RVers need a bucket list at https://rvlifestyle.com/252
This week on the RV Podcast we meet a couple who tell us why every RVer should have a bucket list and how to make it come true. Ari and Jessi Adler, collectively known as the Trekers.org, tell us how, even with 9 to 5 jobs, they are making their amazingly ambitious bucket list come true. I think you…

Do you have a #bucketlist ? Tell us about it! If not start one. If the couple we interview in this week’s RV Podcast can do it with 9-5 jobs, do can you! #rvlife#rvlifestyle

Mike & Jennifer Wendland and friends discover the joys of RVing in their Class B Roadtrek motorhomes.
Unlike some Colorado residents, (I’m a Native, born and raised) I’m glad to share my beautiful state. But may I pass on a few recommendations?
1. When traveling our roads, mountains and plains, especially on two lane roads, if you have a line of vehicles behind you or even just a few, use pullouts or even a side road and let them pass.
2. When going down steep roads, use your lower gears, DON’T RIDE YOUR BRAKES!
I have seen many RVer’s with smoking brakes traveling down the steep side of roads. You will lose your brakes and potentially catch your rig on fire or cause an accident.
3. On roads/Interstates with more than one lane traveling in the same direction, use the Right Lane, unless passing. If passing move back over to the right as soon as possible. It is illegal in Colorado to stay in the left lane.
4. Know where you are going. On the Interstates, the Exit signs will tell you which lane to be in to exit and the distance to the exit. If you are in the wrong lane, don’t try to cross lanes of traffic to either get out of the lane or to get into a lane. You can always get on/off at the next exit/street and turn around.
5. Get a Colorado State Highway map and read any restrictions for highways you are interested in taking. Not all highways, especially in the mountains can take RV’s.
GPS is great but it doesn’t always have correct information.
6. If coming from lower elevations, talk to your mechanic to see if you need to make any adjustments to your engine for the higher altitude. This includes your TOAD. Our lowest elevation is 3,315 feet above sea level. It is all uphill from there. Our highest road elevation is Mt.Evans at 14,160 ft. No RVs here, please.
7. Our Wildlife is just that WILD. Do not pet, feed or approach wildlife. They are cute, but this isn’t a petting zoo. Keep your food away from them. They have enough thank you.
8. If you see a baby animal by itself, don’t pick it up. Mom is around and they don’t take kindly to you taking their baby.
9. PLEASE follow all rules regarding pets on trails, and in the back country. Especially in our National, State and Regional Parks. It is for the safety of our wildlife and your pet. We have dog parks where your dog can run free. Our National Parks are not dog parks.
10. Most of all do take the time to find a quiet spot, and enjoy the sound and beauty of My beautiful state.
One of the things we RVers invariably ask ourselves at some point is, “How long will I be able to keep on doing this?” Of course, we can never really know. But I can’t help but think of one particular gentleman whenever the question comes up: Loren Philliips. When I spoke to him last fall, he …

As you travel about enjoying the RV Lifestyle these days, you will notice it’s blueberry season! Our RV Recipes expert chef Mary Jane Curry has put together a short little tip sheet on how to select, care for, freeze and store them

Purchase some blueberries fresh when they are in season and consider dried or frozen blueberries as a worthwhile altern…

As promised, here is the information on how we used Peel and Stick, AKA Contact paper in our RV. There are so many different patterns to choose from, you can
“Not all those who wander are lost,” so wrote J. R. R. Tolkien in The Lord of the Rings. It is so true when it comes to traveling across the continent in our motorhome.. We love to meander, to take roads less traveled, off the Interstate. But even the Interstates are fun, especially out of urban…
We are prepping for our new rev retirement lifestyle but we have a 43’ fifth wheel. As we plan routes there is always that fear we will get into a tight spot that we won’t be able to maneuver or the road won’t be right for our setup. Any recommendations in planning routes for a big rev set up?

And- knowing this, it could make you more cautious. I see too many people pulling trailers and driving motorhomes at or above the speed limit and way too fast for conditions. I just hope I’m not nearby when they have an accident.
I’m sorry to see if this! It was someone’s home away from home just hope they are ok!
If a manufacturer constructed a trailer to withstand a bad accident A) No one could afford to buy it and B) No one would have a truck strong enough to tow it. Yes, I know there are exceptions but manufacturers must build for the masses, they need to actually sell the majority of what they make. (Although that was a 16-year-old trailer, it probably was pretty well built. It’s mostly intact on the other side.)
Cars are well built and I have seen some pretty beat up after a roll over accident.
What Kris said. They perform fine as built for intended use

It’s a simple fact of life for RVers: owning a rig means repair costs — on the road or not. Statistically, in fact, three out of every 10 RVs will breakdown by their second year on the road. This increases to eight out of 10 by the fifth year, and nearly every RV by the eighth year on the road. …
