I need that drain valve setup. Worst part of winterizing mine is pulling that stupid awkwardly located plug.
Water heaters don’t need the anode rod if they have an aluminum tank.
I had this same water heater. Everyone is correct. You don’t have an anode. What you do have is an electric heating element that will corrode and fail over time very much like an anode. However, it’s on the other side of the unit along with water hookups and the electric relay control. Depending on RV installation, it can be easy or a real pita to remove with a special socket you’ll have to buy first. Don’t get any of that wiring in the backside wet or else the cheapo solder will corrode and you’ll be replacing that too.
I do like the addition of the drain valve. Mine just has the standard tapered plug.
The Atwood heater is an aluminum tank and does not have an anode rod!
Just drain and clean (drain twice or three times to flush out crap in the bottom of the tank…)
