There is a great little RV park just down the road from Capitol Reef. Offroad RV resort. We stayed there a week and loved it. Zero light pollution that made seeing the stars easy. Also take HWY 95 (Utah State Route 95) it will blow your mind. Long drive but worth every second of it.
