There’s more than meets the eyes when the experts start saying the RV industry is a leading indicator of economic trends. We’ve been hearing a lot of that lately. Here’s some perspective. https://rvlifestyle.com/experts-looking-at-rv-industry-to-project-economic-trends/
Experts Looking at RV Industry to Project Economic Trends
As the RV industry goes, the overall economy follows, according to experts — and as a result, our beloved lifestyle recently has been making headlines. The reason? Year-to-date total wholesale shipments of recreation vehicles are down 20.3 percent, and some believe RV sales serve as a kind of bell…
- RV companies need to innovate more and america needs more RV camps
- First off they need to revamp the whole system because it seems to me all there selling is junk RVs out there maybe a couple of Manufacturers had some good ones but most of them are just junk in the whole system needs to be re-evaluated and some quality control needs to be set because people are spending 30 and $40,000 on an RV that’s falling apart right before their eyes and when they go for their warranty it takes sometimes months ,years to get things repaired and then there just half ass repairs
- Perhaps the problem is the vast majority of RV manufactures make crappy RV’s and people are finally saying NO MORE. I will not waste my $$ on your crap and they simply find another way to fulfill their dreams of travel w/o wasting money on products that fall apart quickly.
- Even if the quality issues are not the reason, they should be! Quality and innovation will be the ticket out of the quagmire. People will pay for quality. No company is perfect, but I believe the Sportsmobile approach is the right one – give people what they want and don’t force standard plans that include things like showers when the buyer is just going to use it as a broom closet.
- I think it had to do more with quality is not there for the cost. Spent weeks researching to make informed decision and tons of bad reviews and horror stories. Ridiculous pricing for poor quality is the problem.
- The Class B’s are way over priced I think. They are the most desirable for a single person but they could be much more homey inside and have much more storage.
- The do it yourself van builders seem to be the most innovative and make them so much homier and with much more storage. Some of them use large beds and for me that is wasted floor space though. I would rather have a twin bed size with storage under neath and more walking room with cabinets lining the walls and floors though for storage of course. A rear bumper for the sewage hose would be nice in the Class B’s too.
- In my economics class I learned what is called “the supply of law and demand”. Which means RVs are selling like crazy and the dealers had a ton of RVs on hand so therefore they were making less money on the units. By cutting back on production, this allows RVs value to increase allowing dealers to charge more per unit. Which in turn increases sells due to competition. This makes it great for the economy. Tells me our economy is doing great!!!
