Assume the build quality is crap and check everything.
I wish we were more thorough when we picked up our new trailer. We did a 90 minute walk thru but still didn’t catch everything.
My advice? Check the little shit. Make sure the doors close and latch easily. Make sure the storage locks correctly. Open every drawer and cabinet. Test the stove, the oven, the outside appliances. Turn the AC on, turn the heat on. Put the slide out and the awning in and out.
At the end of the day, just know that you will indeed bring it back for warranty work.
Here’s a wonderful checklist I found some years ago. It’s by no means complete, and is no substitute for an experienced eye or a true NRVIA inspection, but it’s the most comprehensive and convenient one I know of: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pACJ7_7QLFmx_WI23RWo-FFwd9PwnNWw/view?usp=sharing
EVERYTHING.
Unless you plan to have it inspected, play with everything. Make them show you how everything works. Not just tell you, but show you. Make them earn the fee they charge…
Make sure all the blinds are up. Ours came with a giant cracked front window that I didn’t notice until I got home. It was covered under warranty and the dealer was great but it was still a pain to get it replaced
I’m about to do the walk through of my new Jayco as well this week so I’m trying to figure out the same.
Ridiculous upcharges.
