Got the camper out of hibernation and started The yearly due diligence. Was just walking around and this section began to sink, what feels like water damage. Going underneath has a liner which I would need to cut to see. Going from the top I would need to pull up the laminate. Obviously I will need to do one, the other, or possible both. The walls seem fine and I can not see an exterior water issue, fear now is down inside the wall. Will get on the roof soon to inspect further.
My question is what is the best approach to attack this? Anyone have a similar issue and can offer some guidance on where to start? 2024 camp season let’s goooo!
I had a similar issue. I had a leak from a window that pooled down to the floor. I used a box cutter to cut the laminate along the (fake) seam of the planks. You can then peel back the laminate and assess. There is plywood underneath the laminate, and if there is water damage you will need to replace all of the damaged sections. Once you are done, you can glue the laminate back in place.
You’ll have to pull that up to see whats going on. Its only gonna get worse if you dont
Laminate sucks for water damage and if the corners and seems starts to lift and separate, nothing will fix it. Replace affected pieces.
It’s likely from a seal to a window, roof, or compartment that’s been compromised. The single most important maintenance activity I complete on my rv is check and re-application of sealant on seals. Hope it’s a quick fix for you!
My advice is don’t worry about something that hasn’t happened until you know it has. 🙂
