What will I need to tow this with

mch18:

Ideally, 3/4 ton or higher. You could get away with 1/2ton, but it’s going to struggle in wind.

jmy74:

You will hate life in a 1/2 ton. I had basically the same specs on our last trailer and hated every mile that I towed that thing. Buy a fifth wheel you will need the same truck regardless.

Jawilly22:

Good luck!! ????????????????

FLTDI:

I have a similar weight trailer but 4 feet shorter. I wouldn’t tow this with a 1/2 ton. Go 3/4 or bigger. Not for the weight but for the sway

idgoforabeer:

You’re just above the cutoff for a 1500 truck imo. Not necessarily in weight, but in length. Sway will come into play pretty big.

If you did stay with a 1500, your biggest hurdle won’t be the ability to pull something, it will be the weight that everything puts on your hitch. The tongue weight will exceed unless you find a gem of a 1500 with the proper rear diff gear ratio and external radiator cooler in a max tow package/trailering package. That all varies by manufacturer, so get ready to research. I think Chevys had the highest numbers in 150/0’s last time i checked in 2020.

That all said, your length will make it no fun. So move up to a 2500 or honestly.. just jump to a 3500 if you can afford it. I don’t see enough payoff in a 250/0 to justify not going to a 350/0.
