Girlfriend(f25) and I(m25) moved into our camper about a month ago. It’s been pretty sweet but our black tank is stinking the whole place up, we just paid for someone to come flush it out yesterday. I’ve been putting two of the porta-pak things in every time i re fill the tank but it still smells so bad. It’s getting ridiculous kind of lol. Anybody have any tips or could recommend some products for us it would be very appreciated ????
Is the seal on your toilet deteriorated? If you leave water in the bowl, does it seep through? This happened to me when I just purchased my camper. The seal wasn’t air-tight so smells would come though. Worse, when I ran the ceiling vent fan, it would pull air though the black tank from the tank vent. Absolutely disgusting. I replaced the seal and all of it went away.

I had the same issue with my toy hauler a few years back. It was brand new took it back to the place and they said the factory forgot to cut the vent out if the roof so it was recirculating it back into the camper everytime we flushed. Awful ended up selling the pile of shit after it sat at the dealer a whole summer for the A/C vents weren’t attached and the auto level system malfunctioned and snapped a front landing gear leg off. So if yours is new I would recommend checking that if not the make this blue liquid called aqua chem that’s what I use in my camper we have now and minimal smell.
Happy Camper is the best I’ve found. RV Digest-It a distant second place. Everything else, useless.
I switched from those to Happy Camper. Happy Camper works much better.
