anchorgreg: No repair. Only replace.

Elainstructor: Hi folks, bear with me if you have a moment. Thought the propane was leaking from the fittings but after rewrapping them with tape I found that this portion of the regulator had the leak. I’m not sure what this part does other than show the level of propane in the tank. Is there an adjustment for it, or will I have to replace the entire piece? Any help is very welcome.

Thank you.

Elainstructor: It’s leaking between the plastic housing seam and the metal.

a_god_damned_furry: I recommend replacing the whole setup (regulator and tank lines/fittings) with new parts. Besides the annoyance, those leaks can be pretty dangerous.

Sunlight ruins those plastic and rubber parts over time…if you don’t have a tank cover, putting one on can help extend the lifespan of your system.
