Dometic a/c started making burning plastic smell so I turned it off, shut off the breaker. I unscrewed the control panel inside where the kitchen is and the box was melted and so was one of the connections. Does anyone have any experience replacing this wiring? do I need a whole new box or can I fix this? The fan works without any burning smell so I’m assuming it’s a burned up connection to the compressor? Any help or advice is appreciated, thanks.

**i haven’t looked inside this box before and I wasn’t the one to tape up the wires

Kreuzade:

Looks like it busted a nut. Did a yellow wire nut fall when you opened it up? Seems you could replace it and be good.

suburbazine:

Wire nuts have no business connecting solid to stranded wire. Replace with Wago.
