Found this in my RV manual that says my converter can detect what type of battery it is charging. Does this mean I can swap it out for a LFP without a new converter?

The charge wizard in this case is only for lead acid batteries.
What it’s describing is the automatic switching between the three modes (normal, boost, and storage… which is just the Bulk/Float modes). All of these apply to lead acid batteries.
You technically “can” charge a Li-on battery with this, but it possibly will not charge to full capacity and it will not cut off current at the appropriate moment. Will it kill it? Probably not. But it won’t be ideal. If you want to get the best for a lithium setup, you need a lithium converter replacement.
Charge Wizard is a Progressive Dynamics feature, so this is going to depend upon which model of PD converter you have (unless someone else is using the term as well).

I don’t see anything there that says it detects battery type.
You won’t know what you have till you pull out your charge controller (or at least look at the stickers where your fuse box is located. I suggest unplugging the camper and disconnecting batteries.
I am guessing you are going to install lithium. I recently upgraded my charge controller for lithium. I bought the manual switch, not the auto as I have heard complaints about auto.
So far no issues.

You can email them to ask. I did this when I converted to lithium. They then suggested the right charger to swap in. The rest of the electrical box stayed put and I just swapped the charger portion. Works great.
