Does anyone know why this would be leaking?? What part even is this? It’s the water pump that my city water runs through but I never actually use the pump (it’s off – never turned it on) because I’m always connected to the city water.
May have frozen and cracked. They are plastic fittings.
Looks like a leaky pump seal. A rebuild kit might be available, otherwise need a new pump.
Have you tried putting a screwdriver to those screws?
Hey, OP I know you’re freaking, but chill. It’s both an easy and cheap fix. Pumps are less than $100 on Amazon. Install shouldn’t take more than 30 mins.
I’d find its source and see if it’s a failed o ring or a cracked piece. It’s just plastic and that shit breaks over time. Shouldn’t be a difficult or really expensive repair to do yourself.
95% sure the front orange plastic is cracked.
Step on how to fix.
- Stick your phone in to snap a photo of the water pump label and try and get the model number.
- Google model number and see if Amazon or a local shop has one (FYI really only RV places would have it local not Home Depot).
- Drain water tanks and hot water tank by using low point drain if you have one or leaving the valves open and disconnect the water pump.
- Replace water pump with new one and fill your tanks and pressure test. YouTube rv water pump replacement for more tips and information.
For a full replacement should be under $125. Once you remove the pump you’ll find the crack and see if a rebuild kit is worth it. Pretty often if the pump has froze and cracked the plastic than the internals need to be replaced too and it’s easier to buy a full replacement and later if you decide do a rebuild kit and have a spare on hand.
That’s the pressure switch for the pump that’s leaking, it’s blown a seal.
Time for a new pump.
