OldHobbyJogger:

Usually I start it filling, get distracted, then remember when it starts spraying all over the place.

PizzaWall:

Overflow and pressure vent. I go until it makes a noise that it is full, which is seconds before it starts spurting out water.

RecognitionClear761:

That would been a vent line. This allows filling your tank without air gulps. Not necessarily there to let you know that your water tank is full

motosteve61:

My overflow is a hose that comes out the bottom of the trailer. I ignore the lights and fill it up till it seems full, unless I need to travel with water in the tank, which I try to avoid. If I have to travel, then I don’t fill it too full because my over flow line can create a siphon and suck my tank flat. I usually fill up before going to my site at the campground and leave the cap off until the siphon stops.

centralnm:

I fill until water comes out of that overflow port and then keep going until water comes out of the port steadily. This takes just a minute or two extra. I find that I can get more into the tank that way. Maybe there’s air bubbles in the tank and the extra time fills it completely

catlinye:

I prefer to go by the indicator lights, but our vent is somewhat fubared and I don’t want to overpressure the fresh water tank. Only tank indicator light that still works!

hg_blindwizard:

You’re pointing to an air vent/overflow. I fill mine until a steady stream of water starts to come out. Never had an issue doing it that way

Source: when filling fresh water tank, do you stop as soon as light indicator reads full or stop when overflow port spills water (or is that bad to do in general?). If so, is this the overflow (please see pic)
