On this week’s show we check out the new Cedar Creek line of fifth wheels and give you a chance to see for yourself why this brand is filling the needs of a lot of fifth wheel trailer buyers.
Then, we’ll join John DiPietro for a look back at his fun-filled stay at the Ocean Lakes Family Campground in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Also, as we all know, RVers enjoy all kinds of outdoor activities and kayaking is definitely on the top of the list. This week, we learn all about kayaks and buying the right kayak.

Two Cedar Creek Fifth Wheels
When we were producing the Aqua-Kem ad you see on our show, the biggest props on the set were those two great-looking Cedar Creek fifth wheels. Let’s face it. How could you miss them? Since we had them for a couple of days, we decided that it was also a great opportunity to check them out and show you just how luxurious these new fifth wheels actually are.
As we look around the exterior let’s point out some important features about the Cedar Creek line that are not visible or quite obvious, unless you see them while the unit is being built, like all Cedar Creeks come with this famous all-aluminum substructure frame built on 16-inch centers or less.
One thing you can’t help but notice is that true high gloss gel-coat finish that will keep that shine for years.Those large flush windows not only look great, but are dual-pane, allowing for all-season camping, and, yes, there are a lot of slide-outs as you can see.
Cedar Creek has two models: the Champagne and Hathaway, which offer numerous floorplans and range from 37 foot, 7 inch to 41 foot, 11 inches in length, so finding one in your size range with the amenities you’re looking for should be no problem.
Now that we’ve checked the outside features, let’s go and see what the inside has to offer. As you step up and enter the trailer, you’ll notice the MORryde 5-tier Step Above entry stairs. These stairs are a game changer. They’re secure and safe.
Inside you can’t help but notice the well-appointed kitchen with a large center island, with illuminated base and overhead infinity lighting. You’ll also find solid surface countertops with large 60/40 under-mounted stainless steel sinks.
There is a 20 cubic foot stainless steel electric refrigerator, with double-door freezer and a 100-watt dedicated inverter. Other kitchen appliances include a 30-inch microwave oven and a Cuisinart wine cellar refrigerator.
The dining table comes with two fixed chairs and two folding chairs, with a leaf extension. The living room is well appointed with Franklin power theater seating and in a 38EL model you’ll find an 88-inch deluxe hide-a-bed sofa.
For entertainment there is a large 55-inch 4K TV on a swing arm, along with Jensen home theater system, with sound bar, J-Control app for your smartphone, and two outside speakers. If that’s not enough, how about a 48-inch fireplace with remote-controlled heat? And those nice big windows, they all come equipped with deluxe day/night roller shades.
The bathroom vanity comes with double sinks and plenty of storage space. You’ll also find a porcelain toilet and plenty of hot water, with a tankless on-demand water heater. You’ll sleep comfortably in this bedroom with a large king size bed and there is plenty of storage space with a large closet.
And if you can’t sleep, there is a nice 32-inch LED TV. One thing for sure, with all Cedar Creek models there is no shortage of wall outlets or USB ports. They’re literally everywhere.

Ocean Lakes Campground in Myrtle Beach
John DiPietro: “Hi, everybody. This is John DiPietro for “Rollin’ on TV” and in this segment we visit beautiful Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
We’re staying at the great, fabulous, wonderful Ocean Lakes Family Campground, which is situated right on the Atlantic Ocean.
Myrtle Beach is one city in an area called the Grand Strand, which stretches from north to south, right on the Atlantic, with over 40 miles of family-friendly beaches.
Let’s go see what’s going on here at Ocean Lakes and the area immediately around us.”
Barbara Krumm: “Ocean Lakes Family Campground does have a lot of water. We have one mile of ocean front and then we also have five large lakes that you can fish in. We have 859 campsites for RVs and tents. Most of our sites are average 45 feet long and 35 feet wide. We have some that are much larger, up to 80 feet long.
You don’t have to be a camper to enjoy this campground. You can rent a house that sleeps 6 to 22 guests, 5, 6 bedrooms, 4 baths.
The waterpark opened May 2016. It has 68,000 square feet of pool deck, 2 very large slides, a mat racer with 4 lanes, a tube slide with single and double riders, a huge adventure river with 17,000 square feet of water. It will take you about 15 minutes to coast around that.
The Sunrise Service was a really important feature that we started many, many years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Jackson, our co-founders, believe in church. It’s a big part of our campground. We have Sunday church service every week and the Sunrise Service is a huge tradition, with about 2,500 guests attending the 6:30 a.m. service.
The golf cart is a huge part of Ocean Lakes culture, and it’s not anything our team invented. It just, kind of, evolved over the years and although Mr. Jackson our–one of our founders, he loved the 4th of July golf cart parade, the guests were not happy with just that, so every evening around 7 o’clock along the Ocean Lakes front drive there on the beachfront you will see hundreds of people line up with their golf cars and drive back and forth along that mile of oceanfront, high fiving, cheering each other on, all ages. We have guards placed down there, as this event took on its own life, and I’m trying to make sure that it stays family friendly and kind.
John: “After you’ve taken part in all the activities at the campground, one of the things that you may wanna do is venture outside. There is so much to do here at Myrtle Beach, from great golf, to legendary concert performances, to great local restaurants, and amusement parks.”

Understanding your RV with RV Education 101
In this segment with Mark Polk of RV Education 101, the topic is how to inspect an RV for water damage. Whether you’re purchasing a used RV or you already own an RV, it’s a good idea to periodically inspect for any indications of water damage. If you catch a water leak early, it’s easier and less expensive to repair, as opposed to a water leak that had time to spread.
Mark lists water damage as the number one problem with RV. There are a couple of reasons for this. When an RV travels down the road, all the movement and flexing can cause sealants to separate. Another problem is over time sealants dry out, crack, and start to separate, especially when the RV is constantly exposed to the elements.
So be sure to watch as Mark demonstrates how to find, and how to repair water leaks, with lots of detailed explanation, in this important segment!
In most situations when you find a crack or sealant that’s starting to separate, you can simply clean the area, remove any loose sealant, and add the correct type of sealant to the area. If you do these inspections on a regular basis, you can locate and repair the source of potential water leaks before it has a chance to develop into extensive water damage.
