Is this a good amount of rotation or are the castle nut/brakes too tight/lose ?

salmonander:

Might be on the tight side. I always put the tire on to get a feel for play and use this method. https://youtu.be/-zC-VFm27Vs?t=77

Never had a problem on lots of different trailers. You can tell a lot by just pulling over and feeling the temperature. They should not be all that hot if they are set up correctly.

magicscholbus:

Tech here. That’s not enough contact, put the tire back on then spin test. If you have more than one rotation, adjust brakes so it’s no more than one full rotation
