Karate_donkey: Check out the bats at the SoCO bridge.

murph319: The view from mt bonnel is pretty fantastic. Go to Salt Lick in driftwood for some good bbq. The capitol grounds are pretty cool and bob Bullock and LBJ museums would be good if the weather doesn’t cooperate. Kayak rentals on the lake are fun. If you’re a movie fan a lot of the places from office space dazed and confused and others are still around. Moontower in south Austin is another good stop. The list goes on.

Avoid sixth street at all costs.

To_The_Nerdery: McKinney Falls State Park is a true hidden gem, I highly recommend

AdventuresYouDream: We landed at a park just north of Austin tonight. If you have been to Austin, what was your favorite things to do and places to eat?? We are checking out Hamilton pool, Barton creek green belt, playing top golf, and of course headed to Waco for a day.

sciencegoddesslee: Make sure you get goodies at The Czeck Stop in Waco….and yes, there is always a line.

Worth the hassle!

iwtwyad: If you're into live music and nightlife, check out 6th Street in downtown, especially on weekends.

Dripping Springs and the surrounding hill country has a lot of breweries and wineries with some scenic drives between them.
