Spotted at Costco for $80
Well mine has an O2 sensor that will shut it off at a certain percentage of lower O2. Also keep it away from any flammable material and you will be fine.
Having said that, we use an electric ceramic heater when we have shore power.
They have a tip over sensor and a low oxygen sensor to shut them off which makes them indoor safe. They’re fine to use indoors but they do put off a lot of moisture so they’re not recommended for extended use indoors
We use the electric oil heaters. Two of them on the motorhome. They are quiet. Work really well and make moisture a non issue.
Edit: we don’t use the propane at all.
Wow, lots of hate here for these. They are used a ton for ice fishing and they’re pretty safe. Open a window a tiny bit, have a quality carbon monoxide detector, and you won’t have issues.
What you will quickly realize is how many disposable propane cylinders you’ll be going through. These heaters go through them pretty quick, especially if you get the Big Buddy version. You get 6 hours on low and 3 hours on high per cylinder. It’ll be a lot less wasteful and a LOT cheaper just to use your RV furnace.
Edit: I see these include a hose and filter so you can use a 20 pound tank. The problem is that you really aren’t supposed to have the tank inside with you in case there’s any propane leakage. For ice fishing, the tank can sit outside and the hose can be snaked inside. That’s not so easy for a RV.
I have a post on my history of a guy using one of these attached to a regular propane tank inside his rig. Guy lost his campers and both of his dogs. Get you a ceramic electric one.
Inside an RV should not be considered “indoor” when it comes to heating.
I second a pair of oil heaters. Used 2 in my 38′ toy hauler and they did a good job keeping it warm enough that the propane heater use was reduced greatly.
Moisture maker
Source: How is this safe for indoor usage? Would love to better heat inside 5th wheel but sounds dangerous.
