Me and my wife are looking at an older camper to buy, and found this one we like. We like everything about it except for this one spot. We asked about water damage but they said they couldn’t find a leak, and that it felt hard touching it. What would yall suggest?
It’s delamination. The wall is plywood laminated to fiberglass. It has had water intrusion and has come apart. The only GOOD way to repair is to replace the entire side of the trailer. No way to stop the rot on the existing wall even if the leak was fixed. I would stay away from this one.
That is definitely delamination – evidence of definite prior leak. Wall is gone, mold is a risk. Doesn’t matter if it’s hard-feeling or not.
Serious repair bills. I’d walk.
Water leak. If the current owners think this is not a problem this is a visible example of their attitude towards RV maintenance. Not even if it was free.
Looks like delamination to me. It’s a major, and expensive, repair.
It could be desalination. But really check that bubble where it meets the roof for any holes. If there is one, you got water in there. And if it felt hard, you may only have slight water damage. If there are no holes, you might get away with using a roller to smooth that back out. It really depends on how long that bubble has been there.
That’s delamination from a water leak up above. And it also looks like there’s a bit of it on the upper right corner of the window there too.
Don’t buy it. It’s a nightmare waiting to happen. And it won’t wait long.
