AKLegoGuy: I have all the original manuals but they aren’t much help. It starts and runs but randomly it will start surging RPMs and after 15-20 seconds it will die. It did this for 3 trips last year and it would always smooth out and stay running but now its started dieing if I don’t give it some throttle. I replaced the fuel line all the way to the tank and the fuel pump and added an inline fuel filter with no change I also changed the plugs and wires because they were original plugs. I am very mechanically inclined but I have never worked on a generator before. The coach is an 87 and only has 29,000 miles and there is no chronometer so I have no idea how many hours but based on the mileage of the coach I don’t think this has too many hours especially since the spark plugs had the original overspray and this thing has worked great for 2 years. Please help!
a_god_damned_furry: Really sounds like a fuel issue, i’d pull the carb off and go through it. They tend to get gunked up from sitting for long periods with ethanol gas in the carb. Also check the fuel pump and the line from pump to carb for sludging/clogging.
